IAC Report 2021

Following a two year publication gap between 2019 and 2020, the IAC Report is here. Its return happens in a global context which has changed radically from the time of the last edition2, as the world continues to grapple with the Covid-19 pandemic while navigating this never before travelled road to recovery. What the pandemic has clearly shown however, and which many would argue is here to stay – including the new IAC bringing this report to you the reader – is that our societies and the way in which they are managed needs transparency and accountability.

The CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness is no stranger to these values and principles. Being born out of the urgent necessity for their streamlining, and anchored in the Istanbul Principles for CSO Development Effectiveness3 which have shaped its vision to this day, indeed puts great responsibility on the Platform to continually have them as guidelines in its diverse interventions and interactions to advance the sustainable development4 and effective development cooperation5 agendas.

This document, called an Inception Report due to its being revived, looks at how much progress CPDE is making in doing just that, where more of it is needed and how its own transparency and accountability policy6 is being used in practice to bridge the gap in CSO development effectiveness and bring about the desired change.
