Led by co-chair and ActionAid Italia deputy secretary-general Luca de Fraia, the CPDE delegation joined the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC) side event titled ‘A New Way of Monitoring Development Co-operation: Towards Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue and Action.’
Luca de Fraia, as one of the speakers, shared CPDE positions around the new monitoring framework, emphasising actionability, and advocating for a better position for stakeholders and CSOs to hold their governments accountable.
CPDE also brought to the event the findings from its ICSO sector’s report on the Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFFs), where the platform advocated the following:
- changing the discourse on the role of INFFs in Financing for Development
- a central role for representative civil society organisations and peoples’ movements
- enabling free choices on whether and how to implement INFFs
- rebalancing INFF policy options away from risky reforms.
