Held in the margins of the 2021 Development Co-operation Forum, a webinar led by the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC) will discuss CSOs’ access to multi-stakeholder dialogue as an important vehicle to bring the voices of people to the table that might otherwise be marginalised from global development agendas, in the face of rapid digitalisation and the pandemic.
CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness Co-Chair Richard Ssewakiryanga and members Josefine Villegas of the Youth Constituency and Diego López González of the Labour Constituency will speak at the event.
Through the webinar, GPEDC aims to
- Emphasise the important role of meaningful multi-stakeholder dialogues for a CSO enabling environment and as a basis for meaningful multi-stakeholder partnerships.
- Explore the possible impacts of digitalization on civic space and multi-stakeholder dialogues. The OECD will provide an overview of plausible outcomes from the Foresight Policy Paper on “Digital transformation and the futures of civic space to 2030.”
- Present country experiences on challenges and opportunities for CSO engagement in digital multi-stakeholder dialogues
- Gather some lessons learnt and good practices for meaningful digital multi-stakeholder dialogues. The Task Team will showcase its online interactive guidance and virtual workshops as a positive solution for continued information dissemination and multi-stakeholder partnerships for CSO development effectiveness and enabling environment through virtual means.
The event will be held on Thursday, 6 May, at 7:30 am EST/1:30 pm CEST.
