Alianza ONG, CPDE focal point for Dominican Republic, prepared a follow-up CSO report on the commitments of the Dominican Republic in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The CSO report identified progress and challenges in implementing the Agenda and promoting the importance of CSO participation in the execution of public policies to achieve the sustainable development goals.Dominican Republic was one of the countries which presented a preliminary Voluntary National Review on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda at the 2018 UN High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF).
As a result of extensive consultation work with more than 50 development actors and organisations, the CSO report concluded with a set of concrete recommendations to the Dominican Republic government to facilitate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and improve mechanisms for civil society participation, including the generation of data, the balance between the axes of sustainable development, sustainable production and consumption, the effective participation of civil society, more complete information and the financing of the implementation.
